How is the dog mess where you are?

While walking our dogs we do notice the mess, and sad to see irresponsible dog owners not cleaning up, or even worse, depositing waste bags on the pavement.

All council litter bins can now have poop bags put into them.

It must be difficult being a responsible dog owner. The amount of dog poo in the area is a joke and done by a lot of dogs judging by the volume. If you buy the dog, picking up the poo goes with the territory. Keeping the dog on a lead is a must, just because you know Lassie is friendly is no excuse when in public. Many friends with young children are now terrified from dogs poking their noses in the buggy. They are also fed up with cleaning dog poo from those lovely grooves in modern footwear.

A friend told me that she recently went to Wellgreen Park with her family. A large dog was running round the general area in the park. The dog walker shouted the dog back when he saw the family wished to cross the area. Unfortunately the dog ran straight towards the family, despite the calls. My friend reported the dog was like a greyhound on steroids with fierce looking teeth. Luckily the dog ran straight into the green exterior gates, not hurt but still looking fierce and big enough that it could jump the fence. The husband (although a previous dog owner of years) said he was scared for his family. The owner apologised and went to the dog area and our friends smiled and said nothing. If the owner cannot control their dog they should not have one.

We have two dogs, and me or the wife can be spotted walking them.
The park at Wellfield Park does have a dog area, and its only here we let them off the lead.
I sometimes take them on to The Donkey Field, and if no one is around at the top end, where it used to be the Tip, I do let them off.

We need to see some high profile prosecutions re Dog mess, and fines being issued (though easier said than done to catch, more so on dark nights)
